What action is taking place in the cartoon? What is the context? -In the cartoon there is a figure eight with a car labled “CA” driving on it. The cartoon says “Not exactly progressive is it?” This is showing that proposition 8 is not productive and it’s just going in circles.

Tone of the cartoon:
1) Positive framing of sexual minorities
2) Framing is supportive to equal rights for sexual minorities
What “reality” is constructed/framed about sexual minorities and their rights?
- The cartoon illustrates how Proposition 8 is not progressive. The cartoonist used the number 8 in order to show that by the use of this proposition California would be going around in circles as opposed to moving forward and giving equal rights by allowing gay marriage.

-The cartoon illustrates how President Barack Obama is now in support of gay marriage when at the beginning of his presidency he was against it. Although this cartoon doesn't deal with much of the controversy of gay marriage, it shows that the President is now in favor of it and are closer to getting their rights.
