Definition:
Same sex marriage- The marriage between a woman and a woman or between a man and another man.
There is a vast amount of controversy over the subject of same sex marriage. Some people believe it should only be between man and woman while others believe it should be between two people who are in love. People who are against same sex marriage feel that it is a religious and moral issue. Those against feel that it will threaten heterosexual marriages and ruin the value and tradition of marriage. However, those who are in favor of same sex marriage view it as more of a civil right. Those in favor feel that everybody should have the right to marry who they would like regardless of their gender.
Proposition 8 - Eliminates Right of Same-Sex Couples to Marry
Proposition 8 is a state wide ballot in California. On November 4, 2008 the voters approved no same sex marriage in the state of California.
